Hey, everyone! It has been a great week and a lovely start to summer!
This past week, Emma Approved came back from a month-long hiatus. What is Emma Approved, you ask? It is a fictional series of YouTube video diaries based Emma by Jane Austen and following the title character through her lifestyle and match-making business. I highly recommend watching it–it’s fun, it’s five minutes in a go, and it’s a little something to brighten up your Monday (and Thursday) morning.
This series is produced by the same lovely people who did the Lizzie Bennet Diaries (if you haven’t seen it, you need to see this take on Pride and Prejudice). While Lizzie started off as a pretty likeable character, you need to give Emma some time to develop. This is truly a story based on character development and growth. In short: stick it out–the show gets better.
So, here is the very first episode of Emma Approved:

And this is the very first episode of the Lizzie Bennet Diaries (a most wonderful show! Romance, friendship, sisters! Bad boys and good boys and college, to boot! I can’t recommend it highly enough!)
If you are hooked (or you want to give the next couple episodes a try), you can find the all rest of the episodes (and links to sister shows) at the Lizzie Bennet Diaries Channel.
Finally, I stumbled on to this again while watching the latest episode of Emma Approved: it is called School of Thrones. It’s a funny take on the popular HBO show and books by G.R. R. Martin. Plus, it has actors from all over YouTube–from A Very Potter Musical, Squaresville, and the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, to name a few. Check it out for the pop culture references, the awesome-sauce rendition of the Game of Thrones title sequence, and for some fun laughs (the first time I saw it, I hadn’t seen/read The Game of Thrones, and I still found it funny, so it is worth it!).
